  1. Her real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta and her stage name was inspired by ‘Radio Gaga’, a Queen song.
  2. Amongst her friends and family, Lady Gaga has many nicknames. These include Rabbit Teeth, Gagaloo, Mother Monster, Little Mermaid and Loopy.
  3. While at school, she performed in musicals. She played Philia in ‘A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum’ and Adelaide in ‘Guys and Dolls’.
  4. She lost her virginity at 17 and described it as a terrible experience.
  5. Lady Gaga is well-known her revealing outfits and this has got her into trouble with the law. She was once cited by police in Chicago for indecent exposure as she was in public wearing tiny hot pants.
  6. Although she attended New York University, she dropped out at 19 to pursue a career in the music industry.
  7. She signer her first record deal on her 20th birthday with Interscope Records. While signed to this label, she co-wrote many songs for other artists, including Fergie, The Pussycat Dolls and New Kids on the Block.
  8. Her natural hair color is brown although she regularly changes both the style and color of her hair. She even wears wigs for many of her performances and says that this is because her own hair is falling out from dying it too often.
